Welcome to Trifecta.net.au
Trifectas dividends are based on the pool and the number of winning wagers placed on the winning combination. For this reason, there are instances where a modest wager can in some cases pay an extremely high dividend. In the 2008 Melbourrne Cup a $6 investment would have resulted in a payout of over $20,000. A high return on investment usually occurs when 1, 2 or even 3 of the horses, dogs, trotters in the winning combination are outsiders and not many agers include these in there selection. The down side, if you pick the 3 most fancied selections and they combine to win, the trifecta may pay as little as $15-20.
What is a Trifecta?
A trifecta is the term used when placing a bet on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Selections you have made in the correct order. You can place a trifecta wager on the greyhounds, horses, and harness racing.
In racing terminology, including Horse racing, Greyhound racing and Harness racing a trifecta is known as an exotic bet in which the bettor must predict the correct order in which horse comes first, second and third in the correct order. In France and Hong Kong the trifecta is known as a Tierce.
In Australia you can place a trifecta wager on any race where there are 4 or more runners. You can place these bets with most corporate bookmakers or the Totalizators.

You must select the first second and third horse in the correct order that they finish choosing only 3 horses. (Dogs or Harness). This gives you 1 comination to win.
You increase your chances of winning with a Box trifecta. A Box trifecta gives you more combinations involving the number of winner you have selected. In a Box Trifecta your selections can come in any order, so if you select 3 horses you have effectively bet the 6 possible combinations these horses may come in.
A Multiple Trifecta allows you to choose as many runners as you like for each placing. For example, you can take five (5) runners to run first, Six (6) runners to run second and eleven (11) runners to run third. As long as one of your runners selected for first runs first, one of your runners selected for second runs second and one of your runners selected for third runs third then you win the Trifecta.
If you are confident that a particular horse (your selection) will win the race you can make this horse the stand out in a trifecta. So you can choose this horse to finish first, and as many horses you like to finish second and third. As long as the horses you have chosen finish in the order you have chosen.
